The KK Group is proud to take a step "backwards"
to recreate Indian heritage in an exquisite retreat for tourists quietly taking place in
the foothills of the Aravalis on the fabled golden triangle of tourism.
Located at the base of the historic Amer fort (just 10 kms
from the hustle of Jaipur on the highway to Delhi), and flanked by the picturesque Jaigarh
and Nahargarh forts, The KK Retreat takes a cue from the magic of the past.
It's lietmotif ? An undulating stream with steps (or ghaat) that lead down to the
water's edge - reminiscent of ancient Indian temples that dot our river banks everywhere.
The KK
Retreat incorporates a host of eco-friendly features as well as offers state-of-the-art
luxury and comfort.
Besides the central theme of the ghaat, the design
evokes the unique street architecture of the Pink City of Jaipur, including its
use of light and shade in summer and winter. The colours blend with the desert, while
architectural features like large verandahs provide warmth in winter and cool shade in
summer.
The stream of water originates at the entrance and cascades down inside the
reception foyer and out into the entire landscape, ending in a quiet lily pond. Around
this stream and the ghaats alongside are clusters of guest rooms, various recreation
areas, a health club, swimming pool and sports facilities.
The guest rooms are predominantly independent units which are
nevertheless related to each other through paved podia and continuous steps - establishing
a sense of neighbourhood, while retaining its individuality and privacy. The main building
at the entrance houses the reception, a cofee shop, a restaurant, a motley street
of shops and a banquet hall - all of which enclose a small pocket garden. Outside, each
cluster of guest rooms has its own service station.
The KK Retreat envisages 50 fully-appointed rooms with
complete telecom and other facilities in the first phase. The initial development itself
encompasses a built-up area of over 4,000 square metres on a sprawling land area of 25,961
square metres.
